TERMS OF USE
Welcome to Troopers. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Troopers’ services, platforms, programs, and materials, including but not limited to our website, mobile applications (such as Piolingo), transitional housing programs, and digital content such as the Troopers Podcast. By accessing or using any Troopers resources, you accept and agree to be bound by the following terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Troopers is a community-driven initiative focused on providing transitional and sober housing, life-building tools, and digital support systems for individuals affected by homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges. While Troopers is not currently a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are in the process of applying for federal tax-exempt status. We operate transparently and in accordance with nonprofit values, including service, equity, and community empowerment. Our services are structured to fill critical gaps in housing and recovery support, using a trauma-informed, dignity-based approach.
By using any part of the Troopers network, including physical residences, digital apps, websites, and social media platforms, you agree that you are engaging with our content and services for lawful, supportive, and non-commercial purposes. You may not use our platforms to distribute harmful, misleading, or offensive content. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any individual or group who misuses our resources, interferes with operations, or compromises the safety and dignity of our residents or team. Access to our programs may be contingent upon adherence to house rules, code of conduct policies, and other agreements.
Troopers offers innovative digital tools to support recovery and growth, including Piolingo—a gamified learning app focused on behavioral health, life skills, and recovery science. We also produce the Troopers Podcast, which shares stories and solutions from individuals with lived experience and community leaders. These resources are designed to educate, inspire, and empower. However, they are not substitutes for professional medical or psychiatric treatment. Any user relying on these tools acknowledges their supplemental nature and agrees to seek licensed care where necessary.
Troopers is committed to cultivating an environment rooted in respect, integrity, and personal accountability. By engaging with our services, you agree to:
- Treat staff, fellow residents, and community members with dignity.
- Refrain from disruptive, dishonest, or harmful behavior online or in person.
- Follow all posted rules, digital community guidelines, and staff directives.
- Not impersonate Troopers personnel, brands, or services. Failure to comply may result in removal from housing, loss of access to digital platforms, or legal action where applicable. We maintain zero tolerance for harassment, violence, theft, or any activity that undermines community safety.
While Troopers is not a covered entity under HIPAA, we voluntarily follow many of the same privacy protections to ensure your information is handled with care and discretion. We only collect information necessary for program operations, such as name, contact details, referrals, and progress notes. This data is secured, shared only with your written consent, and used solely for housing, referral, and care coordination purposes. For more details, please refer to our full Privacy Policy and Confidentiality Agreement.
Troopers offers its services “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for the accuracy, completeness, or outcomes associated with our content or programs. Participation in housing, recovery tools, or digital services is voluntary and assumes personal responsibility. Troopers, its directors, staff, and partners shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damages arising from your use of our platforms or engagement with our services. Always consult appropriate professionals when making decisions related to health, housing, legal matters, or recovery.
Troopers may recommend or connect you to external service providers such as healthcare professionals, legal aid, shelters, or addiction treatment centers. While we aim to collaborate with reputable partners, we do not control their actions and are not responsible for their services, outcomes, or policies. Users are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence and follow the terms set by those providers.
Troopers reserves the right to revise these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be published on our website and will become effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of Troopers services or platforms after such updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms. It is your responsibility to check these terms periodically for changes.
